Christmas in July?! In June??

Hello there scrappy friends!! I hope today finds you well and not too confused by my blog post title! It's Melinda here with you and I am sharing a CHRISTMAS page I created! Yep, Christmas.

Kylie very generously sent me the Pink Fresh Oh Joy collection for scrapping my December memories (which I am S-L-O-W-L-Y) getting through but oh boy, I just love every single thing about this collection!! It is gorgeous, Pink Fresh always do an amazing job designing!

Enough chatter and onto my page! I needed a little help picking my photo today as I have photos of each of my boys with Santa, both of them with Santa and myself with Santa and he picked Mummy and Santa!! This is a little tradition I have done almost every year as an adult and honestly, I love it!! I believe it helps to keep some of the magic alive in me which in turn keeps the magic alive for my boys.

Here is my page and I love how it came together!!

I was, however, going in with every intention of NOT doing mixed media, as you can clearly see, that was an epic fail!! Haha! But I have used some Colour Sprays from Colour Blast (Sapphire to be exact) and the very simple packaging technique!

When my spray was dried I added some stencilling using a Tim Holtz mini layering stencil (the exact one I used is not in store but Kylie has a few others in stock) and the beautiful Bling Colour Paste.

I have ONLY used scraps from the 6x6 paper pad to layer behind my photo and that black and white 12x12 paper in the background (Under The Tree) has a big heart cut out of the middle of it that I used on a previous project! I simply cut down my other paper (Tis the Season) to a size I could see would cover the heart and added some white gesso!

Next up I added in some stickers and that beautiful gold mirror gift sticker. I added a few splatters of the same colour I smooshed and also some splatters of gold water colour and Roadbase Colour Spray.

I love how this page came together and if you are interested you can watch my whole process simply by pressing the play button below or heading over to YouTube to either the ScrappingClearly YT channel or my own YT channel!

As always, thanks for stopping by! If you are like me and still scrapping last years (not to mention all the previous years!!) Christmas photos make sure you head to the shop for this gorgeous collection, it will not disappoint!!

Until next time, happy scrapping!!

A Quick Art Journal Page.. Lets Keep it Happy and Bright .

Howdy folks , Lisa here with a Friday Mixed Media update .
Today I'm sharing a quick Art Journal Page completed in my Dina Wakley Mixed Media Journal.
Bright and colourful, this one was just to promote some flow and take my mind off the fact Miss 20 has just head off into the big world to follow her dreams ,which of course I am super stoked about, but still the  Mother within can't help but be thinking about her.
So this piece is a distraction piece for me,fun, quick and colourful
I started with a little Dina Turquoise and Golden Lime neon paint and a Dina Cellular Stencil.
then layered some more paint, Dina Yellow, Magenta and Liquitex Gesso.
A few circle stamps with Dinas 6 Pack of circle stamps and some black Stazon ink
I added a few more details with a little random papers laying across my messy art desk.
Then busted out the Dina Scribble Sticks and hit the page with a few lines and scribbles,
just to tie those the 2 pages together .(Everything should connect in some way)
For the focal point I have maintained the Dina theme and found a first issue Dina stamp.
and stamped this onto another contrasting piece of painted cardstock ,
then used the same card to cut 2 circles to also tie the theme and overall look together.
More random doodles and scribbles with a black fude ball pen .
I am going to add a little more personal journaling to this piece, but this is where it sits atm.
Thanks so much for dropping by,
I'll be back next week with another mixed media blog update .

Thankful - June Mood Board by Skai Mitchell

Half the year is almost over!

Can you believe we are almost in July already? This year is flying by, and I'm just hanging on for the ride. With only a few days of the month left I'm popping in to share my take on the mood board featuring the gorgeous Magnolia Jane Collection from Heidi Swapp and some of the awesome new Distress Oxide Ink from Tim Holtz.

To create this background I started off with some Marshmallow Heavy Weight cardstock. If you haven't already tried this, you NEED it in your scrapping stash. Its a heavy duty mixed media cardstock that can take a tonne of medium, and not buckle and bend.

I used the new Tim Holtz Distress Oxides in Broken China and Vintage Photo. I swiped each one of them directly onto my Heidi Swapp – Silicone Kraft Mat and lightly sprayed with water. I turned my page upside down and 'smooshed' it directly onto the cardstock. When it dries it gives this super cool rusty effect. I'm defiantly investing in the whole set of these babies!

For my layout and embellishing, I've used a whole heap of the new Magnolia Jane collection from Heidi Swapp. I just adore this collection, from the soft pinks and blushes, to the striking gold details..... elegant and timeless!

Have you got your Distress Oxides yet?

Hello, hello Arty Peeps!
Welcome again to the Scrapping Clearly blog.
Hope your weekend was fab.

I'm here today, in denial that it's Monday, to share something bright and colourful to start your week.

Yes, I've been playing with Distress Oxides again, yay!!
Check out this gorgeous background on heavy weight white cardstock.
My title is a funky foam word from this pack.

Here you can see wood veneer pieces (some coloured black), 2 cardstock stickers, and a stick-on brad, used to embellish my page. You can also see the super cute polaroid paper that I cut up and put under my journalling.

I also used some enamel dots, tiny staples, and a camera paper-clip (love these!!).

Here's my finished page.

I hope you are having as much fun as I am playing with the Oxide inkpads.
Wishing you a happy and creative week.
'Til next time

Dream by Lauren Hender

Welcome back to the Scrapping Clearly blog.
Today I have a beautiful easy to create layout to share with you using some stunning products from the.... Scrapping Clearly store.

To build this layout I have used three large pieces of patterned cardstock to build the background. This was the pink floral, the black and white crossed and the teal with pink flower.
Just placing these pieces into place I knew this layout would come together easily.

I then layered up my photo, fussy cut some frames from the cardstock and using foam adhesive layered my cluster with a doily.

The frame cardstock is just wonderful - definitely a fun feature that is a very cost effective feature on the layout.

Tip: When purchasing your patterned cardstock have a think what you may fussy cut. It may mean that you will end up purchasing the same sheet twice but it will add an extra layer or a cost effective embellishment.

Now it's the time to add all the pretties.. this is the fun part. When adding the details I was absolutely blown away with how fabulous the cork embellishments looked. I have to admit when I saw them in their packet I thought I wasn't going to be able to use them.

See! It looks great..

So let's go shopping.

I hope my layout has inspired you to get creative.

Happy Scrappin

Tuesday, 27 June 2017 inspired by the June moodboard, by Tania

Hi again. Hope you are having a great start to your working or non working week! I had the day off yesterday and my parents are visiting from down South. We got out in the beautiful afternoon weather, it was lovely. (Sorry to those of you freezing down South!!!)

Today I have a couple of cards to share with you, they are based on the colours from this month's moodboard:

On my first card, I stamped the brushtrokes stamp with Distress Oxide inks, so loving these!!! The soft chalky colours. I flicked a little water on them and then highlighted some of the oxidised spots with some Liquitex glass bead gel, that I added through a stencil. I also flicked some spots of Dylusions ink on there! The cute butterflies are cut from the Cocoa Vanilla paper from the Wild at Heart collection!

For my 2nd card, I used papers and ephemera from 3 different collections! (All listed below with links to the store!!!) The Heidi Swapp lace, was coloured the same way as the lace I did on my canvas for my last blog post. With the gorgeous, Vicki Boutin Art Crayons and some water.

These cards were quick, simple and fun to make!! I love the soft colours for a change! I hope you find some time to play along with our moodboard this month and to check out these gorgeous products I've used in the store!

I've used a mix of products from the Scrappingclearly store:

Hello from your new DT member

Hello ScrappingClearly fans,
I am very excited to announce that I am going to be joining the design team as of today! I am super keen to share my crafty projects with you and will be doing so each week through the blog and also the ScrappingClearly you tube channel
(link here: ), if you haven't subscribed already pop on over and do so that way you wont miss out on the scrappy fun.

I am also here to share my first DT layout, which I used the June sketch to create with.

I have used the Cocoa Vanilla Studio 'You Rock' collection to create this layout First up I used the ' In Line' patterned paper as my background and used the packaging technique with the cracked pistachio distress stain to give the pattern in the background. I then used some blue acrylic paint I had in my stash to create the circular swirl patterns in the middle and the bottom and top corners. The embellishments are the You Rock die cut pack and I used the Heidi Swapp colour shine in Mint to add some splatters across the page. Finally the layout was matted to a piece of green cardstock from in my stash just to make the layout pop and give it some stability after using all the mixed media.

Here are the links to the products I used from the ScrappingClearly shop:

Patterned paper- You Rock- In Line- SKU: 711746982740
Die cut pack- You Rock- SKU: 711746982849
Heidi Swapp colour shine- Mint- SKU: 811723017998

There is also a process video to go with this layout, so pop over to the ScrappingClearly channel to check it out.

See you next week with some more scrappy fun!

Star - With Karyn Schultz!

Hi Scrapping Clearly Lovelies!!!

It's Karyn here and today I have a scrapbook page to share with you made using lots of Heidi Swapp products available in the  Scrapping Clearly Store.
I started by layering some Magnolia Jane papers down the centre of some white cardstock. Then I created a mat for my photos. I sprayed a pressed paper frame with gold ColorShine and left to dry. These frames are quite think and take a lot of spray so they take a while to dry - overnight is best. I then cut the frame in half and attached to each side of my photos.
I added lots of elements from the ephemera pack around my photos and across the page. I used staples to attach the acetate and velum elements.
Some paper flowers and word stickers from my stash were perfect to finish the page. Lastly I spattered some Gold ColorShine across my page.
Scrapping Clearly products I've used include

Heidi Swapp Magnolia Jane collection (12x12 paper pad)
Heidi Swapp Mixed company collection (ephemera)
Heidi Swapp Gold ColorShine
Pink Paislee Cedar Lane Love Arrows
Heidi Swapp Color Magic Pressed Paper Frames
American crafts jumbo paper clip
Tiny Attacher

Thanks so much for stopping by

Perfection Is Boring

Howdy Bloggers , Lisa here with a Friday Mixed Media update .
I've been on holidays, teaching over in South Australia, then back here for a retreat and teaching in the Hunter Valley , and in between home to rest and create for myself .
Ahhhhhhhhh, free flowing creating, just for me.
Or rather,my head telling me.just get paint on the canvas and play with colour.
nothing perfect,because Perfection is Boring.
I want to credit 2 Artists I caught up with while I was in SA
,for inspiring me and reminding me,
that every person who creates has such individual style and that owning it,
is possibly ones' best creative tool.
Thank You Both x
For this piece,I just needed to play, to unwind and layer in colours So I started with a warm Tangerine and Magenta background , because there was passion and fire in my belly to create ,and then just started building colours using the Dina Wakley Media product range.
I have to say that I just love those little bottles of colourful goodness
and my collection is slowly growing.
I added a few pieces of printed tissue paper, and a scrap or 2 of Moroccan die cut paper
using Liquitex matt medium to adhere it then a little faded stencil work
and again added more colours and details .
Its all about building the layers. I may have made a few muddy mistakes here and there ,
but the joy of acrylics allows for excellent cover up and reworking.
Here is where I finished , the piece, now gifted to a friend , who has a love of colour and fun.
Do you struggle to make things perfect on your pieces of creative goodness?
Here's my theory ..........
Perfection is made by machines and super incredible ,
insanely talented fine artists,of which I am neither.
So I relax and enjoy just making Art, because doing something...doesn't matter what it is,
doodles, painting ,playing with photos and embellies,
is truly showing your own individual creative talent.!
Run hot on all those ideas you have floating around in your head,
Its your creative brain talking to you.. if you think, just it do it, don't procrastinate ,
because 9 times out of 10 you will come back to that first idea and love it .
So remember, Perfection is Boring and mistakes can lead to incredibly quickly relaxed creative flow

Thanks for dropping by the Scrapping Clearly Blog ..
I'll be back next week with a new Mixed media update .
I hope you have a super creative weekend with lots of fun creative ideas and smooth mojo flow.

Lisa xx
